Move past your past.
Therapy for Military Spouses and Affiliates in Virginia & DC
Transitions can be stressful.
Starting therapy doesn’t have to be.
One of my specialties involves working with military spouses, affiliates, and those who are interested in pursuing a career in the military. As a military brat myself, I understand the life transitions that come with being in a military family. Attending different schools, frequent moves, and building new connections can be challenging. I offer a safe space to process those challenges in traditional therapy as well as therapy intensives.
Areas that I can help women with:
Difficulty with relocation
Identity issues
Separation anxiety
Reintegration after retirement
Trauma
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Sexual assault
Infidelity
Divorce/separation
Sound like you?
Struggling with connection to your loved one
Tired of feeling like you are constantly starting over
Ready to have consistent healthy communication
Wishing that your relationship with your spouse or parent could improve
Here’s what we’ll do together
Therapy can help you.
Trauma therapy can be a vital tool in helping military spouses and adult children heal from the emotional and psychological wounds. Veterans and active-duty personnel often experience combat-related stress, PTSD, or loss, which can deeply affect their mental health and relationships. Trauma therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), provides a structured and supportive environment to process these experiences. It helps individuals manage symptoms like anxiety, depression, and hypervigilance, while also teaching coping strategies to deal with triggers. For spouses and adult children, therapy can aid in understanding and supporting their loved ones, while addressing their own emotional challenges. This shared healing process strengthens communication, rebuilds trust, and fosters resilience, allowing both the service member and their family to move forward with a renewed sense of connection and well-being.
